Tibetan Centre for Conflict Resolution (TCCR) is organizing Youth Empowerment Workshop (YEW) with 25 to 30 chosen college going Tibetan students. TCCR will bear all the expenses of travel and stay for the selected participants. We are offering you two seats for girls and two for boys.

Our Youth Empowerment Workshop would aim at providing the students with skills and tools of Conflict Resolution that would enable them to take up their responsibilities in a more competent and effective manner. To encourage them to take up leadership roles in the community and enable them to contribute to the Tibetan struggle. To empower the college students to be able to face the challenges in their daily lives more amicably and handle the conflicts in a mindful manner. And to enable them to nurture a harmonious relationship with their Indian counterpart and gain their support and understanding.

What we are offering?

An exciting, useful and educational four-day workshop conducted in Tibetan combining theory with action, reflection, learning and strategy. Conducted in a friendly learning environment where you get the opportunity to meet with different students from other Universities. All this with no basic expenditures towards fees, travel and lodging for all the twenty-five to thirty selected participants. (Participants are requi#fffcfc to deposit only a minimal registration fee of Rs. 100/)

Where and when?
The workshop will be held from 28th to 31st August at Yiga Choeling Guest House of Sera Je Monastery situated at Bylakuppe. The Venue is a beautiful and peaceful location in the heart of Bylakuppe which can provide a wonderful learning atmosphere. The participants must report at the venue on the 27th August at 5pm. All participants will be requi#fffcfc to stay at the TCCR appointed lodging during the workshop.

Logistics:
The participants are allowed to travel by train in Sleeper cl-ass or Government Buses. Local travel by
Auto Rickshaws or Taxis should be done by sharing. Original tickets will be requi#fffcfc for reimbursement.

INTERESTED STUDENTS ARE REQUESTED TO GIVE THEIR NAMES TO PRESIDENT. SELECTION ON BASIS OF FIRST COME FIRST SERVE.

4. Organize community boycotts

5. Educate businesspersons about the importance of Boycotting Chinese goods

6. Write articles & letters for the newspapers

7. Organize interviews with the radio & TV stations

11. Telephone 1 person each day & talk with them about China, Tibet, & the U.S.A.

15. Burn white candles each evening in prominent or public places

16. Walk for Tibet's independence in your community

17. Wear a "Tibet" button

18. Put a bumper sticker on your car & give them to others

19. Set up information tables in public places

20. Write letters to government officials (U.S. & PRC) & human rights' groups. Along with other issues, demand that Gendhun Choekyi Nyima be released

21. Circulate various petitions about Tibet & Tibetans

22. Recite long life prayers for The Dalai Lama & The Panchen Lama

23. Recite prayers to remove the obstacles to restore Tibet's independence

24. Hold silent vigils to symbolize the silent voices of Tibetans in Tibet

25. Visit internet chat rooms each day & educate & discuss Tibet, the PRC, & the U.S.A.

26. Wear rangzen bracelets demonstrating your support for Tibet's independence. Share these bracelets with your relatives, co-workers, & friends

27. Each day, wear the name of a different Tibetan Political Prisoner on your clothing

28. Organize hunger strikes for Tibet

29. Ask your radio stations to play "The Yak Band" (Purchase tape from ITIM)

30. Collect Signatures for Tibet's independence. Return petitions to ITIM

31. Collect Signatures for Boycotting Chinese Products. Return petitions to ITIM

32. Host Tibetans visiting your area

33. Raise Funds to assist Tibet Support Groups

Remember: It is easy for us to do many of these activities. Tibetans inside Tibet, in contrast, could possibly be imprisoned or killed for participating in any one of these activities. Whatever you do for Tibet, please be mindful of this reality.
