Dear World Leaders,

You are certainly aware of series of tragic and desperate act of self-immolation by Tibetan monks, nuns and laymen inside occupied Tibet through the reports in the media. The total number of self-immolation since march this year has risen to Ten, the latest being on 26th Oct 2011 in Kardze, out of which five have succumbed to burn and the remaining are struggling for their live, despite Chinese authorities attempt to deny medical care. It is all the more painful to know that all of these people are in the prime of life- most below twenty years of age. Posters appearing around Ngaba town and Kirti Monastery warn that if the present situation continues many more people are prepared to give their lives in protest.

Ruthless repressive measures implemented by Chinese authorities is solely responsible for these unfortunate and extreme step taken by these young Tibetans. Since March 2011 Ngaba Kirti Monastry and Ngaba county have been under a massive Chinese siege. Today there are reportedly 1000 plain clothes Chinese personnel inside the Kirti Monastry and an estimated 50,000 soldiers stationed in Ngaba County. The Tibetan population in Ngaba County is under 50,000. This has created an atmosphere of ruthless oppression and fear in the region. Similarly military lockdown and siege also prevails in Lhasa, Karze and Tawo etc.

If your government is sincere and genuine about supporting truth and justice, now is the time to stand with Tibetan people in their non violent struggle for Freedom and Human rights.

We are writing this mail to urge you and your government to take urgent action to prevent further suffering and loss of young lives of innocent Tibetans
  1. - Immediately allowing independent investigation teams to assess the escalating situation in Ngaba county and Kirti Monastry and initiate measures to de-escalate the situation.
  2. - Ask the Government of the People’s Republic of China to immediately withdraw the military presence from Kirti Monastry in Amdo Ngaba.
  3. - Allow the people and monks to resume their daily routine affairs by lifting all the restriction imposed on them.
Yours Sincerely

Honorable Sir/Madam

Since the 2008, March protest, the eastern Region of Tibet especially Ngaba country and Kirti Monastery are reeling under unprecedented Chinese government crackdown policy. The Chinese government has imposed draconian restrictions, Brutal security raids, increase surveillance, stationing of permanent police and Para military personals and obituary detentions of Tibetans.

Due to the imposition of ruthless policies, severe restriction and crack down, a series of tragic self immolations has taken place. The number of self immolation has risen to ten since March, 2011. Five of them have died and other five are struggling to be alive. What is more agonizing is the fact that almost all of them are in the prime of their life below twenty years of age.

They are driven to take this extreme step to sacrifice their precious life only because it is completely unbearable to basic fundamental polices Human Rights by the Chinese authorities.

If immediate intervention by UN and international community and would leaders is not implemented mare soul deaths would continues because posters appearing around Ngaba country and Kirti Monastery warn that many more people are prepared to give their lives in protest
.
We, therefore, urge you to recognize this as an urgent issue of Human Rights violation and express your concern about the situation in Ngaba country and Kirti Monastery directly to HU Jintao.

United Nations consider Human Rights as their care value to prevent further loss of lives inside Tibet by calling on Chinese government to stop its repressive measures across Tibet.
  • -  Allow independent investigation team to assess the escalating critical situation in Ngaba .
  •     - To withdraw the armed and security personals from Ngaba, Kirti and other monasteries.
  •   - Monks should be allowed to resume their daily routine without fear and interference and allowed to return to their monastery.
  • - All those who are detained must be released and where abouts and condition of those who self immolated since 2009 must be accounted for.
The United Nations and world leaders must understand that as long as the tragedy in Tibet is not addressed, there can be no stability in the region.

Sincerely
